Layers are commonly used in textiles to give a material weight, thickness, and the ability to insulate.  Interior layers are commonly purely functional and not aesthetic, because they are not seen.   I see this space as an opportunity to hide content.  I’ve created samples of textiles that when viewed in normal light conditions, appear to be plain, but when a strong light shines through, it is possible to depict images, patterns or illusions.
